Brian Bytes: FRC Round 1 Event Preference Closes 10/3!

And now a return to bite-sized content provided by an FRC mentor for FRC mentors.

That's right FRC Mentors, Brian from FRC 930 is back with "Brian Bytes!"- short and friendly reminders for FRC mentors.

Hi Teams!

I hope you had a great summer!

It was great to see many teams at the different offseason events, both established (Laser Lights and MROC) and new (LRR, congrats 8744 on the great new event in Eau Claire). We have one more offseason event in the state, TWIST at Muskego HS on Oct 12th, should be a great way to wrap up Crescendo in Wisconsin!

There is one very important deadline coming up for all teams: First Event Registration closes this Thursday October 3rd at 11AM Central Time. This means you have until then to submit or change your preference for your first regional event. I highly encourage you to get your preferences set before Thursday, just so you are ready!

As a quick reminder, teams enter in their top option(s) for regional events, and select where they want to be added to a waitlist if all events are full. After registration closes, all teams get a random lottery number, and in that order get assigned to the event highest on their list that still has open spots, or gets put on the one waitlisted event if there are no spots available. Full details are available on FIRST's website. Event invites typically go out the day after registration closes (so this Friday October 4th for Round 1).

There is a lot more to come for the FIRST Wisconsin community this fall, from FLL tournaments to training days, so keep an eye on the blog for more!

As always, thank you, Brian for your posts!
