Greetings FIRST Wisconsin Community Members!
I am eager to share with you that the FIRST Wisconsin State Advocacy Committee will be hosting our second annual State Advocacy Day at the Capitol Building on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024. At this State Advocacy Day, teams will learn more about building relationships with our legislators, collaborate with one another to execute meetings with legislators and their staff, and will get to showcase their robots at the Capitol Building!
To prepare for this exciting event, we will be hosting a required virtual training session on Sunday, January 7th, 2024. At this session, we will cover the basics of advocacy and help your teams prepare for their legislative meetings. To participate in the in-person advocacy day, each participant must complete virtual training. Please keep this in mind when signing up for the event.
This event is open to students and mentors/coaches of FIRST Wisconsin Teams and costs $25 per attendee - payment is due at the time of the event. Lunch will be provided. To register, please use the following form: https://forms.office.com/r/dGbyK0aWSH. The sign-up deadline is December 15, 2023. Each participant must sign up individually. This ensures we have an accurate count for catering and materials.
We ask that you share this message with your teams and encourage them to participate. Please reach out to FSM Emma Schuff at eschuff@firstinspires.org if you have any questions. We are eager to welcome you to the Monona Terrace and Capitol Building for our second in-person State Advocacy Day!
Here's a picture from last year's State Advocacy Day! We can't wait to see you join us for this photo and more in 2024!
All the best,
